John McCain has landed on the deck that pitches and rolls. He has felt the hook and brought the craft in.
Such a man was destined to bring that confidence and judgment to bear in his selection of a running mate. Military officers are trained to recognize talent and promote it.
A man that could demonstrate the sense and confidence to survive that Hanoi captivity could be relied upon to pick a wing mate.

There is no way that I am interested in a candidate who was a beauty queen or a mayor of a town of 6000, or a governor for two years. She may be feisty, but on the international front, we need a lot more than feisty. We need someone with diplomatic ability. Hello....we have thousands of young men and women who are fighting a war in the Middle East. God forbid something happens to John. The man is 72 and he has health problems. I am a registered independent. If he wanted me to vote for him, I would have appreciated a running mate, the person a breath away from the Presidency of the United States, who had much more experience than Sarah Palin. Forget the right to life issues; forget the gun control issues; all that aside....she could be president and she has extremely limited administrative experience. These are tough times. We need strong leadership and she is just not experienced enough. End of story. |

This is another example of how McCain earned his reputation as a maverick, marching to the beat of his own drum.
He can be a real pain in the butt sometimes on GOP party line issues.
But with this kind of out-of-the-box thinking, he's putting up the best imaginable fight against the Dems in this presidential campaign. I don't think ANY of the other GOP candidates (with the possible exception of Rudy Giuliani) could be as effective this year.

I am a conservative, I have voted almost exclusively republican, except for Schwarzenegger I am proud to say.(McClintock, Art Olivia). Sarah Palin may be a conservative, she may be okay looking, she may have a popularity rating of 84% (84% of 100 =84 people). She is also from one of the smallest (population wise) states in the country, a political novice, a mother of 5 including one she should be home with instead of being vice president. Not to mention that McCain is old and could die if elected and we would have Mrs. Beauty Queen running our nation. A woman who had her brother-in-law canned on a personal vendetta. Yes great choice Jack-A! I will be writing in Mitt Romney, not like its going to matter dumber and dumber are going to walk all over this senile old fool and childish novice. |

Read up about it before you start spouting it - that former brother-in-law apparently tasered his own 10 year old so the kid would know what it felt like and apparently threatened to kill Sarah's father if he helped her sister during their divorce. Even with such a scum bag, she apparently had NOTHING to do with trying to get him fired.

First; Obama.
And now for Palin. Started in the PTA, went to City Council, Served on actual community boards, ran a business with her husband, was mayor, is governor, deals with foreign government representatives in the capacity of governor. Has ACTUAL executive experience. Did this as a mother of four and now five. Doesn't want newborn children to be left to die. Has 2 more years of "EXECUTIVE EXPERIENCE" as a governor, & more if you included her term as a mayor than that of McCain, Obama, & Biden COMBINED!
It is ABSOLUTELY HIPOCRACRY for ANYONE to suggest that she has LESS experience than Obama, Biden, or McCain for that matter.
Palin has MORE experience in the following areas than Obama / Biden as follows:
1. Working with oil/gas companies to promote enviromentaly safe & pro-domestic exploration & resource developement policies in Alaska.
2. Actively seeking out and ridding the Alaskan state government of corruption & waste.
3. An actual record of returning money & investing surpluses into the future infrastructure and services to the Alaskan tax payers, instead of wasting it like Washington D.C. does.
4. Military & HomeLand Security experience as a commander in running of and top commander of the Alaskan National Guard.
5. Executive & budgetary experience as a mayor & governor in RUNNING the state affars of Alaska.
THAT IS MORE THAN BIDEN, OBAMA, or even McCAIN CAN SAY.
It is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING how those who keep calling for "CHANGE" and to vote OUT the Washington "INSIDERS", now have a person in Governor Palin who actually HAS EXECUTIVE EXPERIENCE, with a record of REFORM & FIGHTING GOVERNMENTAL CORRUPTION that IS NOT AN INSIDER, as a VP running mate with McCain, BUT yet they say, "She has little to no experience".

Fred I am with you 100% on Sarah Palin, VP Republican candidate and America's Wonder woman. I had an interesting thought today, a great story sells books. Do you realize that because of this unique and thoroughly momentous pick of a strong and young woman who may be elected to her own eight year term as President one day, she will now be the media darling right up until Election Day. That translates into votes and may mean that Mr Obama will have to go back into obscurity with everyone trying to locate him somewhere in the building to push the vote button.

Great choice. I know why he picked her. The real reason. Cindy said "you need to get some exercise Johnny", so he went and got her so he can chase her around the oval office. Especially if she wears what she is wearing in a picture at usemycomputer.com. I think she has gained a little weight since then but might still be able to get into a similar outfit.

Joe Biden has spent 30+ years in the Senate.
He has served under 7 Presidents.
He has served as the chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee and the chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
While Joe was serving in the Senate, Sarah was playing basketball, trying to win a beauty contest, playing the flute and becoming Miss Congeniality in the Miss Wasilla Beauty Pageant. After that, she went to the University of Idaho where she got a degree in Journalism and then she became a Sports Reporter.
While Joe was serving in the Senate, Sarah got married, got on the town council and then got elected Governor and has served less than two years in that position.
She has only been out of the country two times in her life, once to Ireland and another trip that included stops in Kuwait and Germany. She has never met with a head of State. Have you seen the photo of her on wonkette.com as Miss Wasilla. It is insane to think that this woman could be President of the United States.
I think Senator McCain is a great man but he lost me and my support with this absurd Vice Presidential pick. This will hurt him more than he knows. Ladies and Gentleman of the Conservative Right, the next President of the United States will be Barack Obama and you are going to love what he does for your bank account, for your children's educations, for your food bill, for your energy needs.
